Sample result

A real result, on a sample posting

This is what CheckON returned for a made-up warehouse posting. Each verdict quotes the line it's about and names its source. Where the answer depends on something only the employer knows, it asks.

It suggested four fixes, each one to keep or drop. With all four approved, the posting met the rules.

Warehouse Shift Supervisor

Mississauga, ON · as pasted

Doesn't meet the rules
  1. Pay range width. The pay range is $55,000 a year wide; the limit is $50,000.

    “$55,000 to $110,000 a year”

    ESA 2000, s. 8.2 (3); O. Reg. 476/24, s. 4

  2. Canadian experience. The posting requires Canadian experience. Ask for the skill, not where it was gained.

“3+ years supervising in a warehouse, with Canadian experience required”

    ESA 2000, s. 8.3 (1)

  3. Vacancy statement. The posting doesn't say whether it is for an existing vacancy.

CheckON asked: Is this posting for an existing vacancy, that is, a position that is imminently available for a qualified candidate to fill?

    Answer: Yes.

    ESA 2000, s. 8.5 (1) (a)

  4. AI disclosure. Whether the posting needs an AI disclosure depends on your hiring tools.

CheckON asked: Do you, or a recruiter acting for you, use AI to screen, assess or select applicants for this job? This includes ATS auto-ranking, resume scoring and chat screening.

Answer: Yes. You use AI to screen, assess or select applicants, but the posting doesn't disclose it.

    ESA 2000, s. 8.4 (1)

How it works

From a pasted draft to a posting you can publish

  1. Paste one posting

From your ATS, a job board draft or a Word file. Up to 8,000 characters, nothing to install.

  2. Check it

Each requirement gets a verdict, pointing at the exact sentence. If the answer depends on something only you know, CheckON asks a yes-or-no question.

  3. Approve the fixes

Only what compliance requires is changed. Keep or drop each change.

  4. Edit and copy

Tidy the wording and formatting, then copy it back where you publish, formatted or as plain text.

Careers page audit

How do your open postings do?

Enter your careers page or job board. We check the first three open Ontario postings on it and show what each one misses. Free once a week, no sign-up.

On a paid plan, an audit checks every posting on the board and writes the fixes for you to approve.

Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby boards, or a page on your site that lists your openings.

We follow each site's robots.txt and keep nothing from the postings. Findings only: no fixes in the free sample.

For agencies

Posting for many clients?

Every client's postings, checked the same way, with a record of what you checked and approved.

  • A workspace per client, each with its own company profile, so a check starts from that client's answers
  • Audit a client's careers page, then fix each posting with a check
  • An archive of every posting you approved

FAQ

Questions people ask

Something else? Send us a message.

Is this legal advice?

No. CheckON checks your posting against Ontario's job posting requirements and shows where each finding comes from. For advice on your situation, talk to an employment lawyer.

Who is it for?

Recruiters and staffing agencies that post for Ontario clients, and the HR teams of Ontario employers. If the requirements don't apply to a posting, CheckON tells you.

How accurate is it?

We ran it on 150 real Ontario job postings in October 2026 and compared each verdict with a separate reading of the law. Depending on the rule, they agreed 95% to 99% of the time. Our accuracy page has the method, the numbers and what it still gets wrong.

Do you keep my posting?

No. It's processed by our AI provider to run the check and held for up to an hour while you review the results. We keep it only if you share it when you report a problem, or turn on the archive on a paid plan. Otherwise a plan keeps only the date, job title and result of each check.

What does the rewrite change?

Only what compliance requires. Everything else stays exactly as you wrote it, and you approve each change before it's applied.

What doesn't it check?

It checks the posting you paste or link to, and its application form when you add the form's questions (that uses one more check). A document the posting links to, and anything that happens after you post, are outside the check.

How do I get more checks or a custom setup?
